Happy Halloween Y'all

It's been cold this week - almost like a real Fall.

I bought some T-shirts to wear for Halloween - one for today and one for the car show tomorrow - and all week I've been worried that I wouldn't be able to wear them.  Tuesday it was Freezing (ok so it was just in the upper 60s low 70s but that's freezing to a Floridian), Wednesday and Thursday were a little better, and today is great.  I've got a sweater/jacket just in case, so I'm all set.

Tonight is the weekly car show at Tower Shops, and as far as I know they are still having it, but is should be pretty light - most people will be out with their kiddos Trick or Treating.  I'm hoping it's a wash and we get to go home early.

On the Facebook front, my YoVille personality is dressed in her Halloween costume.  She is a witch.  Since I had to drop so many coins for the costume, I've kept her in it all week long, but I guess tomorrow (or maybe Monday) she'll have to return to regular clothes.

BOP Car Show

We went to a BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) car show earlier in the month, and hubby took 1st place in his class.  This is from October 19th.

The car is a 1968 Pontiac GTO conv.  The show was up in Broward at Pines Pontiac, and was hosted by the Hurricane Chapter of POCI.

It was a beautiful day - only threatened to rain, but not a drop came down.  I think there were about 85 cars in attendance, and it was a fantastic day. 

After looking at the cars, I retired to my sunshade and sat reading my book, talking to friends, and enjoying the day and the music.

We go to cruise-ins just about every week but the biggest one coming up is in Daytona over Thanksgiving weekend.

Cat Update

Monday, I took one of my cats (Monty) to the vet for a cleaning (a couple of weeks ago at his yearly shots and exam the doc said he needed a cleaning).  To make a long story short, he ended up having 2 teeth pulled - they do look sparkly white though.

So we brought him home Monday evening and he was still all wonky - kept tripping over himself and misjudging his leaps and jumps.  He's on liquid antibiotics and if you've ever tried to give a cat medication, just think about trying to squirt something in a cats mouth where he has just had teeth pulled.  It is oh, so much worse than normal.  He is just all legs and squirms all over the place.  I've got a technique now so it's done and over in a few seconds.

All and all he is recovering well, not quite liking the ground (or now they call it pate) style food since we normally feed him shreds or chunky bits, but he is dealing with it.  No crunchy food or treats for a week and we go back to the vet this weekend for a checkup.

Now I just need to schedule my own dental appointment and all will be good.

Been Facebook occupied

Keeping up with Facebook is a full time job (er ... addiction).

I'm on my best behavior now and will be faithfully updating my blog again, if you will faithfully stop by and read it.  I promise not to visit YoVille or Parking Wars, not to play Tetris and Casino games, and and not to play all the word games on Facebook until I've posted my blog.

Enough said about that.

The reality is ... I added my blog to the blog network on Facebook - so now it's kindof out there for all to see.  We're also going into true car show season, so I'll have more activities to post about as well, plus there are some upcoming crops I'll be attending.

It's all good ... I just need to get back into the habit.  Bear with me though, I've heard it takes 14 days to make a new thing a habit, but I'm planning on being good.

Twilight

I had seen so many references to this book with the facebook flair, and even Amanda mentioned what a good book it was, so I started to read the series.  The first book Twilight got me hooked, and I can't believe I didn't start to read the series sooner.

Then I got the second book - and I loved that one even more than the first.  I started it on Friday for my flight home from Texas, and finished it at the car show Saturday evening.

Then Sunday ... I had to go to Target (the closest store that would probably have book 3), and bought the next book in the series.  It's pathetic, but I am so hooked, that when Target didn't have the paperback, I didn't even flinch at buying the hardback copy.  Yep ... that's right ... me, who always waits for the paperback unless it is a Stephen King novel.

So I've just started Eclipse, the 3rd book in the series.  I don't have much time during the week, but this weekend I will have some heavy reading to do.  I can't wait.

See .... now you get the real picture of how uneventful my life is.  I work and go home.  I don't move around much, I don't change jobs, and I like the simple things in life.
